About the role

Reporting to a Team Leader, you will operate plant and equipment safely and consistently undertake road maintenance and construction works to the standard required.

• Based in Crookwell with regular travel throughout the shire
• Full-time opportunity
• Fortnightly Rostered Day Off to support your work-life balance
• Hourly rate starts at $31.80 - $35.60 + superannuation (Grade 6 in accordance with Council's Salary System and the Local Government State Award)​

Responsibilities include:

• Undertake the safe operation of various road plant for the maintenance and construction of roads, transporting materials and equipment, and towing trailers carrying plant and equipment.
• Competently and safely driving/operating/using/maintaining vehicles, plant, machinery, equipment and tools in accordance with manufacturer's specifications and regulations .
• Ensure that all works are completed in accordance with correct work practices and procedures and relevant regulations
• Maintain plant in a reliable, tidy and safe manner, including minor maintenance such as fuelling, tyre pressure, fluid levels, filters, cleaning, lubrication and greasing, and advising repair and maintenance needs to the workshop
• Operate other road construction and maintenance plant
• Undertaking general labouring duties including but not limited to, pothole patching, concreting, sealing, erection of erosion and sediment control, excavation and spreading of material, monitor and maintain stockpiles.
• Control traffic at worksites, including the placement of signs, lights and barriers, in accordance with relevant legislative requirements and standards.
• Maintain plant in a reliable, tidy and safe manner, including minor maintenance such as fuelling, tyre pressure, fluid levels, filters, cleaning, lubrication and greasing, and advising repair and maintenance needs to the workshop.

Who are we looking for?

• WHS General Construction Induction (white) Card
• Current MR Driver's license.
• Contemporary knowledge and demonstrated experience in road and drainage construction, and maintenance works
• Demonstrated experience in operation of large plant
• You have the ability to work productively as a member of a team and contribute to team goals
