At Bishop Druitt College (BDC), we believe in the saying ‘it takes a village to raise a child.' Our college is built around our community and the relationships we foster each day. We believe that culture is built not on the physical resources within a school, but on the social capital, how the students interact with each other and their teachers and how the staff interacts with parents, other staff members, and most importantly, their students.

About you

As a part of Bishop Druitt College, you will be a dedicated educator with a strong understanding of evidence-based practices. You will have the ability to communicate with students, parents and staff at all levels, with a diverse range of backgrounds and a wide range of age groups. However, you will know that sometimes the best thing to do is just listen with an open heart.

You will be both qualified and have experience in teaching performing arts, with a strong music focus, in both a primary and secondary environment at the NSW Higher School Certificate level (or equivalent), you will have demonstrated abilities in delivering contemporary teaching pedagogies and be comfortable to engage and lead in a K-12 environment. You will also be willing to be actively involved in collaborative learning and teaching practices for our students.

BDC require all teaching staff to be First Aid /CPR, Child Safety, WH&S and culturally trained, or a willingness to train in these areas.

About the role

We're seeking an inspiring professional to join our Performing Arts faculty at a very exciting time of growth for both our BDC students and our department. After a successful year at BDC in all our Performing Arts disciplines, we are now looking for a permanent full time teacher with experience and passion in music, to join the team in 2025.

BDC welcomes applications from experienced teachers of diverse backgrounds and cultures.

Why join us

On offer is a competitive remuneration package aligned to our Independent Schools NSW Teachers (Hybrid) Multiple Enterprise Agreement (MEA) 2021, plus internal and external professional development opportunities with industry leaders. You will be joining a family-oriented environment that puts staff wellbeing first with flexible options for work, free use of our gym, social events and more.
