About the role

Are you someone who enjoys working outdoors, staying active and taking pride in a job well done? We're looking for enthusiastic Works Assistants to join our Open Spaces team and help keep the City's parks, gardens, playgrounds, reserves and public amenities looking their best.

This is a varied and rewarding role where you'll play an important part in maintaining and enhancing some of the community's most valued spaces. From supporting horticultural and turf programs to operating equipment, responding to maintenance issues and helping deliver high-quality services across the City, your work will contribute to creating safe, attractive and welcoming environments for residents and visitors to enjoy.

About you

You have experience in gardening, labouring, horticultural operations or a similar outdoor environment, along with a current White Card, which is an essential requirement for the role. A strong commitment to safety, practical skills and a willingness to learn will set you up for success. Experience operating small plant and equipment is highly regarded, along with the ability to work well in a team, take direction and use initiative when required. Reliability and a positive attitude are qualities you'll bring to work every day.

  • Competitive salary from $30.18 per hour, depending on your capabilities and experience +25% casual loading + 12% superannuation
