Landscape Maintenance Team Member - Sunshine Coast
Austspray Environmental Weed Control Pty Ltd
Swap four walls for the great outdoors.
- Work outdoors across the Sunshine Coast
- Variety across landscaping, planting, weed control and maintenance
- Join a team doing work that genuinely improves the local environment
If sitting behind a desk all day does not sound fun, keep reading.
At Austspray Environmental, our workplace looks a little different. Think parks, gardens, roadsides, landscaped areas and natural environments across South East Queensland.
We're looking for a Landscape Maintenance Team Member who enjoys being outdoors, isn't afraid of getting their hands dirty and takes pride in looking back at the end of the day and seeing what they've achieved.
You might already have landscaping or horticulture experience. You might come from grounds maintenance, parks and gardens, construction, farming or another practical outdoor role. You may even decide you want to swap your 'indoor' job for the outdoors!
What matters is that you're reliable, safety-conscious, physically capable and prepared to get stuck in.
What will you actually be doing?
There is plenty of variety. One day you could be carrying out landscape maintenance, the next you are controlling weeds, pruning vegetation or helping restore a natural environment.
Your work will include:
- Weed control using manual and chemical methods
- Pruning trees, shrubs and groundcovers
- Preparing and maintaining landscaped areas
- Mulching and fertilising
- Using hand and small power tools
- Removing debris and rubbish from natural and landscaped areas
- Looking after equipment and keeping work sites safe and tidy
It's practical, physical work and you'll be outside in the Queensland weather. That means sunshine, heat, cold and sometimes rain. You'll also be walking across uneven terrain, carrying equipment and potentially working with a knapsack weighing up to 10-20kg.
Who are we looking for?
We'd love to hear from you if you're the type of person who turns up, gets involved, looks after your gear and takes pride in doing a job well.
You'll ideally bring some landscaping, horticulture, grounds maintenance or natural-area experience and be comfortable using tools and working physically outdoors.
You'll also need:
- A current clean driver's licence
- Your own vehicle and ability to get to our base in Staplyton
- A White Card
- A strong commitment to working safely
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a crew
- The initiative to ensure the job is completed.
A manual licence, MR/HR licence, Cert III in Horticulture/Parks & Gardens/Landscape Construction, ACDC licence, First Aid, chainsaw or traffic-management tickets would all be useful, but they're preferred rather than mandatory, and we can support you in gaining these.
Why Austspray?
Austspray isn't simply making gardens look tidy.
Our work spans natural-area restoration, landscape and waterway maintenance, planting, revegetation and weed management, with the work we do directly contributing to healthier and better-maintained environments.
You'll join a business that takes safety seriously, provides appropriate training and specialist PPE, and wants its people to contribute ideas rather than simply follow instructions.
So, if you'd rather spend your working day outside, we'd like to hear from you.
