About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic, innovative, and student-centered TAS (Technological and Applied Studies) Teacher with strong specialisation and experience in Food Technology and Hospitality to join our Secondary School team for the 2027 academic year.

This position involves delivering an engaging curriculum in Stage 4-5 TAS (Food Technology) and Stage 6 Hospitality Vocational Education and Training (VET) pathways.

Your role will be to inspire students through inquiry and project-based learning, contribute to a tech-rich learning environment, support the VET pathways for Food Technology for our senior students, and actively participate in our vibrant co-curricular and pastoral care programs.

What You'll Be Doing

• Teaching & Curriculum: Plan, program, and deliver high-quality, differentiated teaching activities aligned with NESA K-10 TAS, and HSC VET Hospitality.
• Innovative Pedagogy: Utilize problem, project, and inquiry-based learning strategies within an ICT-rich environment (using LMS platforms such as Schoolbox, Google Suite, and digital badging programs).
• Assessment & Reporting: Implement effective formative and summative assessment strategies, providing meaningful feedback to foster continuous student growth.
• Pastoral Care: Delivering high levels of student care, wellbeing monitoring, and regular parent communication.
• Co-Curricular & College Life: Actively support and contribute to the College's co-curricular program (sports, outdoor education, clubs, service, or chapel program) in your area of expertise.
• Classroom Safety: Maintain a safe working environment and enforce appropriate standards of behavior in alignment with College policies and NESA guidelines.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

• A recognized tertiary teaching degree in Secondary Education with a specialisation in Technological and Applied Studies (Food Technology).
• Current accreditation (or eligibility for accreditation) with the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA).
• Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment together with relevant vocational competency and industry experience to deliver VET Hospitality.
• Proven ability to embed Food Technology Stage 4-5 TAS and Stage 6 VET Hospitality.
• Proven ability to embed contemporary, student-centered learning practices, including inquiry/project-based learning and ICT integration.
• A strong commitment to the pastoral care of secondary students and a willingness to support the Anglican ethos and co-curricular life of the College.
• Valid NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) and current First Aid / CPR certification (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement).

Desirable:

• Experience in HSC marking or contemporary assessment design.
