The Opportunity
Are you an enthusiastic, active, and inspiring PDHPE Teacher? We have some fantastic opportunities to join our collaborative Secondary PDHPE team!
We are open for expressions of interest from dynamic educators for a variety of both full time and part time positions in ongoing and fixed term capacity.
If you love the idea of inspiring our secondary students to live healthy, active lives and supporting them to be "World Prepared", you will fit right in here. We are especially on the lookout for teachers with a background in-or a genuine drive to teach-Stage 6 courses. Having experience or an interest in Human Movement Studies (HMS) and Community and Family Studies (CAFS) will be a massive advantage!
With our Anglican ethos forming the fabric of our culture, we are also looking for someone who is open to teaching in our Religious Education Program (REP). This program aligns beautifully with our supportive Anglican values and helps our students grow into kind, thoughtful young adults.
Reporting to the Head of Faculty - PDHPE, you will:
- Bring Health and PE to Life: Plan and teach engaging, inclusive, and active PDHPE lessons that get students moving and thinking about their wellbeing.
- Get Creative with Technology: Use fun, collaborative teaching styles in our classrooms and outdoor spaces (we use Google Suite, Schoolbox, and TASS to keep things running smoothly).
- Guide Our Seniors: Support and mentor our Stage 6 HMS and CAFS students, helping them feel confident and fully prepared for their HSC journey.
- Be a Mentor: Jump into our Tutor program to check in on student wellbeing and help everyone feel safe and welcome.
- Get Involved: Help out with school carnivals, sports programs, camps, and outdoor excursions.
- Community Support: Administrative coordination of our independent sporting club - Barracudas, as and when required.
Requirements for the role:
- A teaching degree with a focus on Secondary PDHPE (Personal Development, Health and Physical Education).
- NESA registration (or eligibility to get it).
- A current NSW Working with Children Check.
- Current First Aid and CPR certificates.
- Experience in teaching PDHPE.
- A background in teaching Stage 6 HMS or CAFS (or a strong desire to step up into these courses with the support of our experienced team) is highly regarded.
- Strong organisational skills in school and sports administration is also highly advantageous.
About You:
- You are supportive of our Christian, caring Anglican ethos.
- You are a great communicator who builds easy, positive relationships with students, parents, coaches, and fellow teachers.
- You are highly organised, energetic, and a true team player who loves sport.
Why You'll Love Working With Us
- You will be part of a supportive, and active PDHPE faculty.
- We offer excellent professional development, including NESA accreditation support and sports coaching pathways.
- Our sporting opportunities for our students are leading in the community.
- Incredible work life balance supported by living in picturesque Coffs Harbour with beautiful beaches up and down the coast, famous coastal and bush walks, and access to one of the best public championship golf courses on the North Coast.
How to Apply
Apply online on our recruitment website, making sure you include:
