About Us
We are Bishop Druitt College, the leading K-12 Anglican school on the NSW North Coast. We strive for high academic standards, including a caring pastoral program and adaptive learning experiences. The role includes teaching students from Year 7 to Year 12, and includes the ability and/or willingness to teach HSC courses, including English Studies, Standard, Advanced and Extension 1 English. If you have also guided students through Extension 2, that will be beneficial, however, not essential.

In this role you will:
- Report to the Head of Faculty, English.
- Plan and teach English and REP lessons that help students actively engage in their own learning, through inquiry-based teaching
- Demonstrate strong ICT skills using Google Suite and our school learning management platforms, Schoolbox and TASS.
- Help our Year 11 and 12 students develop confidence and prepare for Higher School Certificate examinations
- Communicate effectively with students and parents with supportive, constructive feedback.
- Mentor student wellbeing through our tutor and pastoral care program.
- Be involved in extra-curricular activities, including sports, creative arts, camps, or excursions.
Requirements of the role;
- A teaching degree with a focus on Secondary English.
- NESA registration (or eligibility to get it).
- A current NSW Working with Children Check.
- First Aid and CPR certificates are required.
- Experience teaching English to all secondary ages (Years 7-12)
- Experience or willingness to teach senior HSC Advanced and Extension courses.
About You:
- You are supportive of our Christian, Anglican ethos.
- You communicate effectively across diverse social and cultural backgrounds and have a demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and fellow teachers.
- You are flexible, reflective and an active learner.
You will be part of a super supportive, forward-thinking team. We offer excellent professional development.
How to Apply
Apply online on our recruitment website, make sure you include;
- A cover letter (especially your experience with senior English and your thoughts on teaching REP).
- A current resume/CV showing your qualifications, experience, and NESA details.
- Contact details for three professional referees.
- Copies of your NESA accreditation and NSW Working With Children Check.
