Leading Hand Wastewater
Coffs Harbour City Council
Keep our community flowing. Lead essential infrastructure that makes a real difference every day.
- Take the lead in maintaining critical wastewater systems across the Coffs Coast
- Career progression opportunities
- Permanent position with great entitlements
About the role
This is a hands-on role working across the Coffs Coast to keep our wastewater system running smoothly. You'll be out on the ground carrying out investigations, maintenance, repairs and minor construction works on sewer infrastructure.
From responding to chokes and call-outs, to planning and running CCTV inspections, you'll be actively involved in fault finding, repairs and improving network performance. You'll be doing a bit of everything. You'll also help organise jobs, guide contractors and make sure work is done safely, on time and to a high standard.
You'll be part of a supportive team that takes pride in their work and in delivering a reliable service to the community.
Please refer to the Position Description for a more detailed understanding of the role.
About you
You're someone who's done similar work before—whether in wastewater, plumbing, civil works or construction—and you're confident working outdoors in a physical role. You understand how to work safely around hazards like confined spaces, traffic and live sewer systems, and you take that responsibility seriously. You've got the right tickets (or most of them), can operate machinery and tools, and you're a team player who's willing to step up, take the lead when needed and get the job done properly.
What's on offer?
- Competitive salary from around $67K - $70K (depending on your capabilities and experience) + allowances + 12% superannuation
- Permanent Full Time 38 hours per week
- Flex time, flexible work arrangements and generous leave entitlements!
- Numerous benefits as outlined here!
