About the Role
As our Events and Activation Officer, you'll play a key role in creating vibrant, engaging, and memorable experiences for the Bunbury community. Reporting to the Events & Activation Team, you'll lead the planning and delivery of a range of City-led events and activations that bring people together, celebrate community, and activate our city spaces.
You'll take ownership of the day-to-day coordination and delivery of events and campaigns—ensuring every detail is carefully planned, professionally managed, and delivered seamlessly.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading the planning and delivery of key City events including CoB Day Out and the Reconciliation Walk
- Coordinating seasonal campaigns and activations including Summer Lovin' and identified CBD activations
- Supporting the delivery of major community events including Christmas in the City, Sky Fest Australia Day celebrations, and the Mookaroo-k winter campaign
- Managing event logistics including bookings, contractor coordination, budgets, risk assessments, permits, compliance, and event documentation
- Working collaboratively with internal teams, community groups, suppliers, and external stakeholders to support event promotion and delivery
- Supporting the development of management plans, operational documentation, and post-event evaluations
- Contributing to the creation of welcoming, inclusive, and engaging community experiences
- Working outside normal business hours when required to support event delivery
About You
You're an all-rounder with a love for logistics, a passion for live experiences, and the ability to keep cool under pressure. You enjoy the thrill of working in fast-paced environments and take pride in creating events that run like clockwork and leave a lasting impression.
You'll thrive in this role if you have:
- Experience coordinating or supporting events, ideally in local government or large public settings
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple moving parts
- Excellent stakeholder communication—whether it's with sponsors, suppliers, or internal teams
- Confidence in budget monitoring, compliance, and documentation
- A proactive attitude with a solution-focused mindset
- Availability to work occasional evenings or weekends when events are on
