The Opportunity
The Tourism Coordinator plays a key role in driving visitation and supporting the sustainable growth of Nambucca Valley's visitor economy. Responsible for managing the Visitor Information Centre, including a team of volunteers, the position leads destination marketing, digital engagement and industry collaboration to promote the region and enhance the visitor experience.
The role combines hands on operations with strategic marketing and stakeholder engagement, requiring an experienced, motivated and creative professional who can deliver high-quality visitor services while strengthening relationships with local tourism operators and promoting the destination across multiple channels. This is a unique opportunity to help launch the new destination brand and play a leading role in shaping the future of the visitor economy.
Key requirements of the role:
- Tertiary qualifications in Tourism, Marketing or a related field, and/or extensive experience in the visitor economy
- Demonstrated experience in destination marketing, content creation, website development and graphic design.
- Demonstrated experience collaborating on projects with internal and external stakeholders
- Proven ability to recruit, supervise, and support volunteers
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office and design software.
- A valid driver's licence
- An understanding of the Nambucca Valley visitor economy and established industry networks is highly desirable.
