About the Role

As Chief Financial Officer, you will step into a finance function that requires transformation from systems and processes through to financial performance and team capability.

This is not a maintenance role. It's an opportunity to take ownership, challenge the status quo and build a finance function that supports the long-term sustainability of Council.

Reporting to the Director Corporate & Community, you will play a key role in strategic planning, financial management and organisational decision-making.

Key Areas of Focus:

• Rebuild and optimise financial systems, processes and controls
• Lead and develop the finance team to improve capability and performance
• Strengthen financial reporting, forecasting and long-term planning
• Ensure integrity, accuracy and governance of financial data and systems
• Partner with the Executive Team to support critical decision-making

Skills & Experience Required

• Qualified accountant with senior leadership experience in complex environments
• Strong background in financial management, reporting and long-term planning
• Proven ability to improve systems, processes and team performance
• A critical thinker who questions information and seeks evidence-based decisions
• Resilient, pragmatic and able to build trust while driving accountability
