About the role
Malmsbury Youth Justice Precinct delivers a nurse-led, 24/7 health service that supports the wellbeing of young people through integrated primary, allied, dental, and mental health care. As a GP, you'll provide primary care to young people at Malmsbury Youth Justice Centre, conducting biopsychosocial assessments, developing treatment plans, and delivering client-centred, holistic care in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, including participation in a rotating on-call roster.

Your duties include:

  • Independently provide and coordinate high-quality comprehensive medical care for young people within the Malmsbury Youth Justice Centre
  • Provide appropriate care and services to young people of all levels of health care needs
  • Respond to medical/ health problems presented by young people including history taking, diagnosis, investigation, treatment, and referral as appropriate
  • Take corrective action to remedy safety hazards or risks and restore a safe working environment

Our ideal candidate:

  • Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) Vocationally Registered General Practitioner
  • Medical practitioners Board of Victoria current Practicing License
  • Demonstrated sensitivity and an understanding of the needs of people from marginalised or CALD backgrounds
  • Strong belief and personal alignment in cohealth Values and Mission
