Fitter

Coffs Harbour City Council

  • "Keep Coffs Harbour Flowing - Join Our Mechanical Team!"
  • Hands-On, Outdoors & Every Day Is Different
  • Exciting projects that benefit the City's Water & Sewer infrastructure.

About the role

As a Mechanical Fitter with the City of Coffs Harbour, you'll play a key role in maintaining, repairing and operating essential water and sewer infrastructure across the region. Each day brings variety - from fault‑finding on pumps and valves to supporting capital works projects and monitoring SCADA performance.

You'll work with a supportive mechanical team, using modern mobile technology and asset management systems to complete and document work. This is a hands‑on, outdoor-focused role where your skills directly support the safety, reliability and sustainability of critical community services

About you

You're a trade‑qualified fitter with solid experience in mechanical maintenance, ideally within the water industry. You take pride in solving problems early, working safely and delivering quality work the first time. Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team, you thrive in environments where no two days are the same. You enjoy being outdoors, can manage competing priorities, and bring strong skills in pumps, welding, fabrication and general mechanical repairs.

Most importantly, you bring a proactive attitude, strong communication skills and a commitment to supporting your team and community.

What's on offer?

  • Competitive Salary (from $74,437) depending on your capabilities and experience + relevant allowances + 12% superannuation
  • Permanent Full Time 38 hours per week
  • Flex time, flexible work arrangements and generous leave entitlements!
  • Scope for performance-based salary increases
  • Numerous benefits as outlined here!
