About the Role
As our Digital Communications Officer, you'll play a key role in shaping how the City connects with its community online. From social media to websites and engagement platforms, you'll create and manage content that informs, inspires, and encourages participation.
You'll take ownership of the City's digital presence—ensuring content is timely, accessible, and aligned with organisational goals and community priorities.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing engaging written and visual content for websites, social media, newsletters, and corporate publications
- Managing the City's social media channels, including content planning, publishing, and responding to community enquiries in a timely and professional manner
- Maintaining and updating content across the City's corporate and community websites, including articles, blogs, and landing pages
- Supporting the development and proofreading of corporate publications and editorial content
- Ensuring all digital content reflects the City's brand, values, and tone of voice
- Monitoring digital engagement and identifying opportunities to improve reach and impact
About You
You're a creative storyteller with a strong digital mindset and a knack for turning information into engaging content. You understand how different platforms work and enjoy connecting with audiences in meaningful ways.
You'll thrive in this role if you have:
- Experience managing digital communications, ideally within a local government or community-focused organisation
- Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to adapt tone across different channels
- Experience managing social media platforms and responding to online audiences
- Confidence using content management systems and digital engagement platforms
- An eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy and brand consistency
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- A proactive, collaborative, and solutions-focused approach
