Building a Better Bunbury
We have vacancies in our Parks and Reserves team and are looking for enthusiastic General Hands with a passion for horticulture and landscaping. On offer is a permanent position and a maximum term position ending 9 February 2027. Join our experienced team, where your skills and passion for gardening will play a key role in enhancing our parks and reserves.
Your safety is a priority for the City, so active participation in daily planning and safety discussions will be essential to ensuring the successful delivery of our annual landscape maintenance programs.

Do you enjoy working outdoors, nurturing gardens, and maintaining beautiful green spaces? If you have a strong interest in horticulture, turf, irrigation or landscape maintenance, this is the role for you.
You will have a working knowledge of turf, horticulture, landscape, or irrigation maintenance practices, which will be further developed through ongoing training, coaching, and mentoring from the team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operation of power tools, plant, and equipment to maintain our parks and gardens
- Active participation in landscape and horticultural maintenance tasks
- Support in delivering a variety of outdoor and horticultural projects across our reserves and public spaces
What you bring to the role:
- A minimum Medium Rigid driver's licence (or willing to obtain within 3 months of commencement, self-funded, with the use of City plant to practice)
- White Card
- Basic Traffic Management Certificate (or willing to obtain, funded by the City)
- Satisfactory National Police Clearance (under 12 months)
- A passion for working in outdoor environments and an interest in gardening and horticulture
- Ability to work collaboratively and safely in a team environment
What we offer you
- Salary of $78,249 (plus super)
