The Opportunity

We are looking for a strategic Risk and Insurance Advisor to develop and promote a culture of best practice and continuous improvement in risk management, insurance management and business continuity within Maribyrnong Council.

You will be responsible for developing, implementing and delivering a best practice Enterprise-wide Risk Management Program and Council's Business Continuity Program, as well as managing Council's insurance program and portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the strategic direction, development and management of Council's Risk Management Program, including Enterprise and Operational Risks, and their supporting systems, policies, work plans and training.
  • Responsible for managing the development, implementation and maintenance of Council's Business Continuity Plan.
  • Responsible for coordinating Council's Insurance Program, and Portfolio.

About You

To be considered for this role, you will have the following:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Risk Management and/or Business Continuity Management, or related discipline with several years of relevant experience or lesser formal qualifications with extensive relevant experience
  • Experience in assessing risk and developing risk management programs.
  • Experience in the techniques used in reporting, investigating and recording of claims.
  • Current Victorian Drivers Licence.
  • No relevant criminal record found in a Police Check.
