We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Canteen Assistant / Barista to join our school community. This is a hands-on role supporting the daily operation of the school canteen, providing barista-style coffee to staff, students and visitors and assisting the Food Technology department.

Hours:

• 7:00am - 1:30pm
• Monday to Friday, during school terms only

About the Role

This varied role includes food preparation and service in the canteen, barista duties, and practical support for Food Technology classes. You will also assist with ordering, pre-preparing ingredients and laundering items used in the Food Technology room.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation, cooking and serving in the school canteen
• Prepare and serve barista-style coffee and hot beverages
• Order and pre-prepare ingredients for Food Technology classes
• Launder aprons, tea towels and other Food Technology items
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, food safety and hygiene
• Provide friendly service to students, staff and visitors
• Assist with stock control and deliveries

About You

• Barista experience preferred (training will be provided)
• Organised, reliable and able to manage a varied workload
• Friendly with good communication skills
• Able to work effectively as part of a team
• Hold a current Driver's Licence
