About the role
The Health Promotion Officer will play a key role in designing, delivering and evaluating health promotion initiatives that support the health and wellbeing of young people in custody. This includes creating a health promotion plan, developing evidence-based activities and materials, and collaborating closely with allied health and support team members such as the Dietitian, CALD Worker, Aboriginal Health Worker, Physiotherapist, Dentist, and Nursing team.

Your duties include:
- Develop an annual Health Promotion Plan aligned with cohealth frameworks and Justice Health requirements
- Conduct needs assessments using data, clinical input and young peoples feedback
- Design and deliver health education activities, workshops and group programs
- Develop clear, accessible and culturally relevant health promotion materials tailored to diverse literacy levels

Our ideal candidate:
- Demonstrated experience in health promotion planning, program development and evaluation
- Understanding of factors impacting the health and wellbeing of young people, including social determinants, health literacy and behaviour change principles
- Ability to co-design and deliver engaging health education programs for young people
- Tertiary qualifications in Health Promotion, Public Health, Health Sciences or related field
