Plant Operator - Parks and Gardens

Are you passionate about working outdoors and contributing to the care and maintenance of local parks, gardens, and facilities?

Upper Lachlan Shire Council is looking for a dedicated Plant Operator - Parks and Gardens to be a vital part of our Environment and Planning team. In this hands-on role, you'll play a key role in maintaining Council assets and infrastructure with a focus on safety, customer service, and community pride.

What You'll Do:

  • Undertake general parks and gardens maintenance duties including but not limited to weeding, planting, mulching, mowing, pruning, disease/pest control, irrigation, watering, playground inspection and maintenance
  • Ensure consistent delivery of the highest level of customer service
  • Ensure our open spaces & associated amenities are maintained and improved to a high standard.
  • Operate and maintain small to medium plant and equipment, ensuring all work is conducted safely and efficiently
  • Uphold Council's values of sustainability, integrity, respect, and professionalism in all tasks
  • Provide exceptional service to our community, ensuring public spaces remain clean, safe, and welcoming

What You'll Bring:

  • Contemporary experience in Horticulture, or substantial contemporary experience in a similar role, coupled with ongoing professional development to support contemporary knowledge
  • Class C Driver's License
  • Proven ability to operate, maintain and clean mowers (push & ride on types), brush cutters, chippers, chain saws, leaf blowers, leaf sucking equipment, and edger's or similar
  • Able to competently operate and safely drive and maintain vehicles and plant
  • Strong teamwork skills and commitment to safety and environmental standards

What's on Offer

Salary range from $60,457 to $67,632 plus super, depending on skills, experience and qualifications.
