Hope Ginninderra Anglican Parish is seeking a dedicated and spiritually grounded Rector to lead our newly merged parish community across St Barnabas, Charnwood, and St Michael and All Angels, Hall—serving several suburbs in Northwest Belconnen.
This is an exciting opportunity for a committed leader to guide a parish in a time of positive growth and renewal, strengthening our shared mission and deepening connections with the wider community.
About the Role
The Rector will lead the spiritual life, pastoral care, and missional vision of the parish, nurturing parishioners and supporting the ongoing development of the Ministry District of Northwest Belconnen. The role requires enthusiasm, pastoral sensitivity, strong communication skills, and a passion for evangelism and discipleship.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the spiritual growth, pastoral care, and discipleship of parishioners.
- Strengthen the parish's missional engagement and growth.
- Encourage participation in both traditional and contemporary worship.
- Support a harmonious parish culture that respects diverse Anglican traditions.
- Build strong relationships within the parish, the Ministry District, and the wider community.
Desired Qualities & Attributes
We are seeking a Rector who:
- Demonstrates strong theological grounding, including belief in the primacy of Scripture, the Trinity, prayer, fellowship, outreach, and the inclusion of women in ministry.
- Communicates God's message clearly, engagingly, and with relevance.
- Is gifted in pastoral care, outreach, and community engagement.
- Encourages discipleship and actively supports parish growth.
- Provides inclusive, consultative, and decisive leadership.
- Communicates well with people across all ages and backgrounds.
- Brings resilience, self-awareness, and a breadth of life experience.
- Is willing to commit to the parish for several years in a full-time capacity.
Qualifications & Experience
- Tertiary qualifications in theology (essential).
- Experience as a Rector or senior minister (highly desirable).
