We're looking for an experienced and passionate Senior Wildlife Park Officer to join our dedicated team and help lead the day-to-day care of our animals and habitats.
About the Role
As a Senior Wildlife Park Officer, you'll play a key leadership role in animal husbandry, team supervision, volunteer coordination, and enrichment programs. You'll support the development of our keeper team and volunteers, contribute to wildlife management planning, and ensure the park maintains the highest standards of welfare, safety, and visitor engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- High-quality husbandry for native and exotic species
- Lead, train, and support keeper staff and volunteers
- Develop enrichment, welfare, and behavioural programs
- Monitor animal health and liaise with veterinary services
- Maintain accurate records and assist with exhibit upkeep
- Deliver presentations and support education programs
- Ensure a safe, positive experience for visitors and stakeholders
About You
We're looking for someone who brings both expertise and leadership. You will have:
- Certificate II or III in Captive Animal Management
- Strong animal husbandry knowledge
- Ability to lead, motivate, and support a small team
- Strong customer service focus
- Ability to build positive stakeholder relationships
- Strong communication, organisation, and time-management skills
- Confidence in public presentations and engaging with diverse audiences
- A commitment to safety, welfare and conservation.
