As a foundation staff member, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the culture, values, and educational character of our College from its inception.
Position Summary
We are seeking practical and innovative Primary School Teachers to join our foundation team. The successful applicants will possess developing pedagogical knowledge, demonstrate Christian character, and embody inclusive practice, including a deep understanding of models for differentiation. These roles are crucial for establishing a vibrant and compelling learning environment that reflects the College's Anglican ethos and commitment to strong educational outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Teachers will be responsible for:
Designing, delivering, and assessing engaging and effective learning programs that cater to the diverse needs of learners.
Demonstrating a commitment to highly effective teaching and learning that leads self, leads learning, and leads others within the College community.
Implementing High Impact Teaching Strategies (HITS) to maximise learner engagement, understanding, and achievement across all curriculum areas.
Fostering a positive, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student well-being, academic growth, and reflects the College's commitment to practical and relational Pastoral Care / Academic Care.
Actively contributing to the development and implementation of the College's curriculum, policies, and procedures as a foundation staff member, upholding high academic standards.
Collaborating with colleagues, parents, and the wider community to support student learning and the College's mission, embodying the values of Courage, Love, and Character.
Participating in professional learning and development to continuously enhance pedagogical practice and knowledge, aligning with the College's vision for holistic education.
Upholding the Christian values and Anglican ethos of Stromlo Forest Anglican College in all aspects of school life, demonstrating Courage, Love, and Character.
Selection Criteria
Essential:
Registered Teacher: Current registration or eligibility for registration with the Teacher Quality Institute (TQI) in Canberra.
Working With Vulnerable People (WWVP) Check: A current and valid WWVP registration in the ACT.
Anglican Ethos and College Values: A demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the Anglican ethos, Christian values, and the College values of Courage, Love, and Character, with the ability to integrate these into teaching practice and school life, including practical and relational academic care.
Pedagogical Expertise: Demonstrated age-appropriate pedagogical knowledge and the ability to implement innovative and effective teaching strategies, including a strong understanding of models for differentiation.
High Impact Teaching Strategies: Proven ability to apply and articulate an understanding of High Impact Teaching Strategies (HITS) to enhance student learning outcomes.
Leadership in Learning: A commitment to highly effective teaching and learning that leads self (personal and professional), leads learning (student outcomes and mentorship), and leads others (consistent and capable).
Communication and Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, colleagues, and the wider community.
Desirable:
Experience in a foundation school or contributing to the establishment of new educational programs.
Active involvement in extracurricular activities or school community initiatives.
