About the role
Central Goldfields Shire Council is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Asset Protection and GIS Officer to join our Project Services and Asset Management team. In this role, you'll help protect Council assets by conducting inspections, managing permits, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards. You'll also assist with data management and GIS systems, and support surveillance of works across Council land. This position also includes occasional Aerodrome Reporting Officer (ARO) duties, with training provided.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about asset protection, spatial systems, and delivering practical solutions to support community infrastructure. Key responsibilities include conducting asset inspections and investigate damage or safety hazards, liaising with contractors, residents and utility providers regarding reinstatement and compliance, managing asset protection permits and vehicle crossing applications, assisting with GIS data updates and spatial data collection.
We're looking for a self-motivated professional with experience in civil asset inspections or maintenance, strong interpersonal and customer service skills, sound computer and GIS knowledge (or willingness to learn) and familiarity with OHS requirements and relevant local laws.
