We're relocating our library to a brand-new, larger, purpose built space in Coolalinga, and we're looking for a motivated, experienced Library Customer Service Officer to help us deliver high-quality services to our growing community.
- Full-time, ongoing position with real impact (we also have casual positions as well)
- $75,000 - $80,000 + super (Band 3)

At Litchfield Council, our library is more than just books, it's a vibrant community hub. As we expand into our new space, we're excited to bring on someone who's not only confident working in a library but who also has a passion for helping people of all ages feel welcome, supported, and empowered to learn.
In this role, you'll be the go-to person for assisting library users with a wide variety of needs. From navigating public computers and printing services to accessing e-resources and handling general enquiries. You'll also action inter-library loans, support library programs and events, and help maintain a well-ordered collection through shelving and cataloguing support.
To succeed in this role, you'll need to demonstrate:
- At least 2 years' experience working in a public library
- Strong customer service skills, with a natural ability to engage people from all walks of life
- Confidence using technology, including Library Management Systems (OCLC WorldShare experience is highly regarded)
- Excellent communication, both verbal and written
- A flexible, can-do attitude and ability to work weekends when required
- The ability to thrive in a team that values having fun, getting stuck in, and backing each other up
You'll also need a current Ochre Card, First Aid and CPR certification, a valid Driver's Licence, and be prepared to complete a pre-employment medical and criminal history check.
