About the role

We're seeking a strategic and technically skilled advisor to support the City of Coffs Harbour's waste services team. You'll provide guidance on policy, legislation, and operations, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and driving continuous improvement across landfill, transfer stations, and resource recovery operations.

As a Waste Officer, you will be responsible for conducting Waste audits and inspections to ensure compliance and best practices, also playing a key role in collecting and managing data on leachate, stormwater air quality and landfill gas. The role supports the delivery of waste education programs and service delivery programs.

About you?

• Degree in Environmental Management, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or equivalent.
• National Construction Induction Certification (Whitecard)
• Class C driver's licence.
• Demonstrated experience of contract/project management, including managing grant-funded projects and financial management.
