Community Safety Support Officer

Join our dynamic, customer-focused team and help deliver positive community outcomes! In this 8-month parental leave cover position as Community Safety Support Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the team through exceptional customer service and administrative support across a range of areas including animal registration, local laws licensing and permits, the school crossing program, and graffiti management. What a typical day will look like;

  • Collaborating within a supportive team environment while assisting staff across the organisation, community groups, and members of the public.
  • Providing support, including excellent customer experience and administration to the Community Safety team
  • Assist with the management of the School Crossing Supervisor program, including phone calls, diary entries and service requests.
  • Support Councils Animal Registrations and management service
  • Managing data and processing applications for local laws licensing, permits, and other regulatory functions.
  • Attend to Community Safety Support telephone and counter enquiries in accordance with Council's Customer First Commitments.

What you will bring to the role;

  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and be able to implement time management processes and task scheduling
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, with initiative and work effectively as part of a team
  • Experience in customer focused service delivery, and applying problem solving skills and the ability to implement effective solutions.
  • Highly developed computer and keyboard skills, including advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
