Our Regulatory Services Department has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Environmental Health Officer to join our industry leading and innovative award winning, Environmental Health team that strives to deliver great outcomes, in a very diverse Municipality.

Key Responsibilities

The Environmental Health team is responsible for the delivery and coordination of all Environmental Health Statutory functions, including food safety, infectious disease control, tobacco control, community education and nuisance complaints. You will play a key role in protecting the public health in our Community through monitoring, educating and achieving compliance of public health standards.

Our Team's Mission

Our team of Environmental health professionals assess risk, regulate, educate, enforce and monitor regulations governing public health for both the built and natural environment, in order to promote good public health outcomes and environmental practices.

About You

To be considered for this role, you will require :

  • Tertiary qualification in Bachelor of Applied Science (Public and Environmental Health) or equivalent is essential
  • A minimum 2 years experience in Local Government as an Environmental Health Officer
  • The capability to understand and effectively communicate legislative requirements to a diverse range of Customers
  • Self-motivation, with well-developed written and verbal communication skills, to achieve and deliver positive outcomes
  • The ability to analyse problems and provide solutions with a strong attention to detail.
  • A flexible, adaptable and effective approach and managing work priorities when performing duties
  • Self-motivation, with well-developed conflict resolution and problem-solving skills
  • Able to work within a team environment, independently and collaboratively
  • Respond to the Key Selection Criteria.
  • A current Victorian Drivers Licence.
