About the Role
Are you a safety professional who thrives on coaching leaders, influencing culture, and driving continuous improvement in workplace health and safety? We are seeking a Work Health & Safety Compliance Officer to champion safety leadership and ensure compliance with governance frameworks, policies, and legislation.
As the Work Health & Safety Compliance Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring our organisation meets legislative, regulatory, and internal safety governance requirements. With a strong analytical mindset and a proactive approach to risk management, you will coach leaders, enhance safety processes, and support the development of a robust compliance framework.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Lead Safety Governance & Compliance - Develop and refine the Safety Governance Framework, ensuring adherence to WHS policies, legal obligations, and industry standards.
- Develop & Improve Frameworks - Establish structured approaches for risk management, incident investigation, and safety audits.
- Apply Analytical & Auditing Expertise - Conduct in-depth safety assessments, analyse data trends, and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Coach & Influence Leadership - Mentor senior leaders to strengthen their safety leadership capabilities and drive accountability at all levels.
- Manage Hazards & Risks - Facilitate risk assessments, oversee incident investigations, and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor & Report on Safety Performance - Track key safety metrics, compile governance reports, and recommend data-driven safety improvements.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Proven experience in Work Health & Safety Management Systems.
- A strong ability to develop and implement structured frameworks for safety and risk management.
- Exceptional analytical skills, with experience interpreting safety data and preparing reports.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
- A current National Police Clearance and a Class C (or automatic) driver's licence.
