Volunteer Development Officer

Nillumbik Shire Council are looking for a passionate and dynamic Volunteer Development Officer to join our Disability Inclusion and Volunteering Unit. In this pivotal role, you will support Council's volunteer program managers to elevate the visibility of volunteering while enhancing volunteer management practices. Your work will support systems, policies, procedures, and resources that drive volunteer impact, ensure risk management, and support long-term sustainability.

Your work will also forge dynamic partnerships and guide Council's internal Volunteer Framework Implementation Plan.

What a typical day will look like;

  • Oversee Council's volunteer management software, Better Impact
  • Support Volunteer Managers of Council programs with recruitment, recognition, general queries and use of Better Impact
  • Plan and facilitate Council's Volunteer Recognition events and activities
  • Review volunteer management practices and processes across Council in order to identify any gaps and assess organisational needs

What you will bring to the role;

  • Qualifications in a relevant human service discipline and/or substantial experience in the volunteering sector.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
