About the role
The exciting role will lead delivery of the actions under the Economic Development Strategy as well as City of Darwin's Strategic Plan. The position will manage City of Darwin's economic development projects, events program, sponsorship program, and international relations at both a strategic and operational level to provide economic and social benefit to the Darwin community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategy Development & Program Building: Design and implement strategies and programs that align with City of Darwin's vision and goals, ensuring measurable results.
- High-End Events & Activations: Supervise and coordinate high-profile events, activations, and business initiatives that elevate brand presence and engage key stakeholders.
- Economic Analysis: Conduct detailed economic analysis to assess market trends, identify opportunities, and support strategic decision-making processes.
- Bridge the Gap: Act as a key connector between business needs and economic strategies, ensuring seamless collaboration and alignment within your team.
- Economic Action Plan: Lead the development of forward-thinking economic action plans that drive long-term growth and sustainability.
- Business Process Expertise: Utilise your understanding of business processes to optimise workflows, improve efficiency, and drive operational excellence.

If successful, you will have the chance to lead an awesome team of 4 direct reports (Events Producer, Events Coordinator, Manager International Relations & Projects Officer) and will report directly to the Executive Manager Growth & Economic Development.
