Based in our Crookwell workshop you will be trained and mentored by trade professionals. Our tradesman will develop your hands on skills while you work towards a nationally recognised qualification, stay local, and get paid!

Join Council and complete a Certificate III Heavy Vehicle Mechanics.

You will receive comprehensive training and practical exposure to various aspects of:

• Conduct all facets of preventative maintenance and repair of heavy vehicles including brakes, steering and suspension;
• Carry out non- routine repairs as necessary including mechanical repairs and servicing on various plant and fleet vehicles.
• Utilising tools and machinery to complete repairs and maintenance effectively.
• Collaborating with experienced technicians to learn and develop valuable skills.
• Adhering to safety protocols and maintaining a clean work environment
• Ensuring the fleet is maintained to, and in compliance with Fleet Management Standards, with an emphasis on safety;

A key requirement for this opportunity is your commitment and motivation to complete your trade over a four-year fixed term.

To be successful in this role, you'll need to possess the following capabilities and knowledge:

• Ability to work as part of a team
• A can-do attitude, willingness to learn and develop new skills and knowledge
• Ability to work safely and follow instructions
• Eligible to enrol in the Certificate III at the earliest availability
• Commitment to full term of the traineeship and study requirements
• Ongoing commitment to safety, quality and principles of continuous improvement
