The City of Bunbury is committed to enhancing the safety and sustainability of our community. With a focus on quality service delivery and community well-being, we are seeking a capable Building Surveyor to join our team.

The role:

As Building Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in providing professional building certification and permit authority advice and services in accordance with sound building industry practices and legislative requirements as part of the Building Team. Working closely with residents, developers, and other stakeholders, you will uphold high standards of building integrity and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Building Advice: Provide professional and technical building advice and the assessment and/or delegated approval of applications, permits and certificates as a Registered Building Surveyor on behalf of the Permit Authority.
  • Site Inspections: Conduct site inspections to gather information in the preparation of professional advice, applications, permits and certificates.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to community and internal and external stakeholders.

What we need from you:

As well as being a motivated and community minded individual, you will have:

  • Current qualification and registration within Western Australia as a Building Surveyor Technician (minimum) or Building Surveyor Level Two.
  • Experience in Western Australian Local Government Building and compliance roles
  • Knowledge of relevant acts, regulations, and legislation as a registered building surveyor

You'll be well rewarded with a competitive salary of $97,120 gross, as well as flexible working arrangements and professional development opportunities.
