Horsham Rural City Council is on the lookout for a dedicated and experienced Coordinator of Strategic Planning to lead transformative land use and development projects that shape the future of our municipality.
About the Role
As Coordinator Strategic Planning, you will lead transformative planning initiatives that shape Horsham's future. This role involves developing and delivering strategic policies, providing expert advice on land use and urban design, and guiding projects that enhance the municipality's liveability.
You'll collaborate with diverse stakeholders to achieve cohesive planning outcomes, foster community engagement, and advocate for heritage conservation. Additionally, you will inspire and mentor a small team of professionals, ensuring the successful delivery of key initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Crafting and implementing strategic plans that support sustainable growth and development.
- Leading complex planning projects, including master plans and heritage studies.
- Providing expert advice on planning policy and scheme amendments.
- Engaging with stakeholders to ensure meaningful community consultation and collaboration.
About You
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced leader with a passion for strategic planning and community development. You will bring a proven ability to navigate complex land use challenges, lead impactful projects, and foster meaningful stakeholder relationships. With a strong focus on collaboration and innovation, you will help shape Horsham's growth and development while preserving its unique heritage.
Key attributes include:
- Tertiary qualification in Urban and Regional Planning (Bachelor's degree or higher) and at least 5 years of strategic planning experience.
- Strong leadership and project management skills with a proven ability to guide cohesive teams.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a track record of engaging diverse stakeholders.
