Child Safety and Wellbeing Advisor

  • Temporary Part Time Position (6 months)

Join our team who are dedicated to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children and young people. As the Child Safety and Wellbeing Advisor, you'll collaborate with various teams across the Council to implement the Child Safety Improvement Plan. This includes coordinating child-safe initiatives, managing communications and projects, and engaging with children, internal teams, and external stakeholders to achieve the organisation's Child Safety goals.

What a typical day will look like;

  • Facilitate and drive the organisational Child Safety and Wellbeing Improvement Plan (the Plan), supporting responsible officers, units and department to achieve the actions set out in the Plan.
  • Report on the progress and child safety matters to the internal Child Safety and Wellbeing Steering Committee.
  • Convene the internal Child Safety and Wellbeing Working Group as per Terms of Reference.
  • Develop and strengthen the capacity and knowledge of Child Safety within the organisation and the community by developing, implementing, and continually improving child safe practices, and continuing to embed the principles of child safety into the culture of NSC.

What you will bring to the role;

  • Degree qualified in related discipline (human resources, project management, safety/risk, compliance, justice, social work, psychology or community services).
  • Experience in building organisational and individual capacity and continuous improvement principles.
