About the Role
As a Projects Officer, you'll work closely with the Senior Projects Officer to deliver a diverse range of infrastructure projects within the Capital Works program. This is more than just a job - it's a chance to enhance your project management skills, expand your technical knowledge, and play a key role in shaping the community.
In this role, you'll:
- Assist in managing projects to keep them on time, on budget, and within scope.
- Provide technical support to the Infrastructure team, applying your project and contract management expertise.
- Coordinate procurement activities and prepare budget proposals.
- Communicate confidently with contractors, stakeholders, and customers to achieve positive outcomes.
- Work within WHS principles to ensure safety is always a priority.
What We're Looking For
We're seeking someone who is 1-2 years into their project management career and eager to learn, grow, and take on new challenges. You'll have a background in civil engineering with a strong focus on roads, backed by either:
- A Diploma or Degree in Engineering or Project Management, OR
- A Certificate IV in Civil Construction.
This isn't the role for electrical or mechanical engineers, but if you're passionate about infrastructure and road projects, we want to hear from you.
You'll thrive in this role if you:
- Are confident, a strong communicator, and ready to take ownership of your work.
- Have a "can-do" attitude and are open to learning from experienced team members.
- Are detail-oriented, organized, and able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Understand construction principles, legislative guidelines, and have some experience managing contracts and project plans.
