We are seeking applications for a suitably experienced Garden and Grounds Officer to support the School and the Property Manager in the delivery of landscaping, gardening and maintenance services.
The Garden and Grounds Officer is a full time (1.0 FTE) role providing operational support to ensure that the School's gardens and grounds, buildings, plant and equipment are well maintained, well presented, physically secure, compliant with all appropriate regulations and provide a safe environment for the School community.
A key aspect of the role is to be proactive in identifying issues and aiming for constant improvements across the School.
Who are we looking for?
- Experience with grounds and gardening or horticulture roles
- Relevant and demonstrated experience in similar school roles is well regarded but not essential
- Demonstrated physical ability to lift and manipulate equipment and perform manual work
- Knowledge and experience in OHS practices and procedures
- Comprehensive experience with power and garden tools
- Hold a chemical users ticket or have the ability to obtain one
- Possesses a positive outlook, exceptional interpersonal skills and high emotional intelligence with demonstrated ability to build authentic, collaborative and productive relationships
- Is aligned with the School's ethos, vision and values
- Participates as a collaborative team member and operates effectively in a collaborative team environment
- High level of organisational, communication and time management skills
- Possess knowledge of Child Safety standards, policies and procedures and has Working with Children Check
- Current Victorian Driver's License required
- Strong teamwork skills
