The Opportunity

We are searching for our new Customer Service Officer! This exciting opportunity will provide the right person with the opportunity to work with a customer focused team to deliver exceptional customer experiences.

Be part of a team of dedicated customer service professionals to provide a high-level customer service experience to the Maribyrnong community with a focus on first-point resolution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver customer focused, accurate and timely information/resolutions in easy to understand terms via telephone, face to face and online.
  • Provide and support a first point resolution service model through varied contact methods on behalf of Council and various departments.
  • Contribute to customer focused improvement initiatives, projects and services that address identified needs and improve the customer experience.
  • Monitor existing systems, databases and procedures to provide correct and up to date information on customer requests, enquiries and responses.

About You

To be considered for this role, you will have the following:

  • Experience in the provision of high-level customer service delivery, with skill resolving enquiries at first point of contact.
  • Ability to effectively manage and respond to customer enquiries in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work as a member of a team committed to providing efficient and quality customer service.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and sensitivity to the needs of a diverse community and the ability to ensure effective and quality customer service.
  • High level computer skills, including intricate customer request systems and databases.
