The Opportunity
Our Parking & Local Laws team is currently seeking to recruit School Crossing Supervisors (Casual) to ensure the safe passage for all pedestrians at designated schools crossings within the City of Maribyrnong.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend the school crossing at specified days and times
- Ensure when pedestrians use the school crossing, the traffic has been stopped and it is safe to use the crossing.
- Educate all pedestrians who use the school crossing on the correct procedures.
- Ensure that the school crossing complies with the relevant legislation.
About You
To be considered for this role, you will have the following:
- Good judgement skills to facilitate the safe passage for pedestrians with minimal disruption to traffic flow;
- Ability to respond effectively to emergency situations;
- Good English communication skills (oral & written);
- Travel flexibility to enable performing the duties at various locations within the municipality;
- Previous school crossing experience will be highly regarded (however training and induction will be provided);
- Valid Working with Children Check
- No relevant criminal record found in a police check.
