Byron Aged Care (BAC) is a boutique 41 bed aged care facility located in the heart of beautiful Byron Bay, caring for residents in a homelike setting on 1 acre of grounds within walking distance to the beach. We are looking for a Relief Cook/Hospitality Assistant to join the team to work morning shifts Full - Time or 2 x Part-Time in a shared role to cover AM and PM shifts

Are you passionate about cooking and providing exceptional hospitality in a caring environment? We are seeking a dedicated Relief Cook/Hospitality Assistant to join our Byron Aged Care Facility.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook nutritious meals that cater to dietary requirements
• Assist with meal planning and food service to residents
• Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the kitchen.
• Provide friendly and attentive service to residents and their families.
• Collaborate with the team to create a warm and welcoming dining experience.

What We're Looking For:

• Previous experience in a cooking or hospitality role, preferably in aged care (on the job training will be provided)
• Knowledge of dietary requirements and nutrition for the elderly.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
• A caring attitude and a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our residents.

Qualifications & Skills

• Aged Care experience advantageous
• At least 2 years demonstrated experience as a Kitchen Hand within a commercial environment
• Excellent time management
• Empathy, respect and dignity towards the elderly
• Relevant Cert III hospitality qualifications or Food Safety Supervisors Certificate highly regarded
• National Police Clearance Certificate
