The MacDonnell region located in the centre of Australia, covers 270,000sq km and with an estimated population approaching 7,000. It has a unique beauty with picturesque water holes, magnificent flora and fauna, red desert sands and rugged mountain ranges.
About the Role:
As the Manager of the Project Management Office (PMO), you will play a pivotal role in delivering innovative and diverse projects that align with the needs of our remote Indigenous communities. You will work closely with the Director of Council Services to oversee a wide range of projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and in alignment with Council goals and community priorities.

Your key responsbilities are:
- Lead the establishment and management of the Project Management Office (PMO), ensuring effective delivery of projects across our 13 remote Indigenous communities.
- Oversee projects from a variety of sectors, including capital works, community-driven initiatives, and local authority projects.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration within the PMO and across other Council departments.
- Engage and work collaboratively with community leaders, Local Authorities, and stakeholders to ensure projects are tailored to the specific priorities of each community.
What we're looking for:
You will ideally hold tertiary qualifications in project management, business, or a related field, with extensive experience in managing diverse projects. You'll have a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget, and the ability to lead, motivate, and mentor teams in a complex environment.
Experience working in or with remote Indigenous communities or local government will be highly regarded, as will a strong understanding of the cultural and social dynamics of the region.
