About the Role:
Are you passionate about creating vibrant, inclusive communities through community development. Do you have experience in delivering impactful communications and events?
The City of Bunbury is seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager of Community Development, Activation, and Communications to lead this exciting portfolio.
As part of the City's leadership team, you will play a critical role in shaping Bunbury's future by overseeing diverse services such as Community Development, Marketing and Communications, Youth Development, First Nations Inclusion, Community Recovery, and Place Activation.
You will be responsible for maximising community engagement, enhancing Bunbury's reputation, and ensuring the successful delivery of various community and civic events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the City's community development and place activation strategies, including corporate, civic, community, and international events.
- Oversee marketing, media liaison, internal and external communications, and brand management.
- Manage the development of inclusive and diverse community initiatives.
- Foster international relationships through the City's International Engagement program.
- Lead and manage the City's Community Recovery efforts, ensuring the community is supported during challenging times.
- Drive event management excellence, ensuring strategic use of the City's internal grants and resources.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, government departments, and community organisations.
Skills and Experience:
- Demonstrated leadership experience in managing large, diverse teams.
- Proven ability to develop and implement strategic community development programs and events.
- Strong experience in communications and marketing, with the ability to manage media relations and brand initiatives.
- A solid understanding of community recovery processes and stakeholder engagement.
- Experience working with First Nations communities and promoting diversity and inclusion.
Qualifications:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Community Development, Events, Public Relations, or a related field.
- WA C Class Driver's Licence (or equivalent).
